Schools across the state have reopened as scheduled. The government is launching a learning recovery programme to help students this year as the past 2 years were under the grip of covid 19. offline classes have been again put in place in the current academic year. There are a total of 62229 schools in the state, including government and private. There are 25278 junior primary schools, 36951 senior primary schools, and 15867 secondary schools.  

The government is also rolling out the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in 2022-23, with 20,000 anganwadis starting the new curriculum. BC Nagesh, Primary and Secondary Education Minister on Sunday said the early start this year is to help students to compensate for the setback in learning caused by pandemics. Educators have been imparted adequate training programs in both the learning recovery programme and the new curriculum under NEP2020. he added.
