"The Bhandary Foundation founded the Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management (SCEM) in Mangaluru in 2007." SCEM is a premier technical institution that instils quality and value-based education through a creative teaching-learning approach, allowing learners to mature holistically. For most of the programmes, the Institute has a permanent association with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, which has been authorised by the AICTE and the Government of Karnataka. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has given us a ‘A` score, and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has given us a ‘A` grade for all of our engineering programmes (India)(IE(I)).
The picturesque, eco-friendly campus is located on the banks of the River Nethravathi, just off the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway NH 75. (old NH-48). It is about 8 kilometres from Mangaluru, a famous educational hub and port city. It is well linked to all of India`s major cities by road, air, and tain. The institution has been approved as an Innovation Cell by India`s Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under Sections 2(f) and 12b of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act. SCEM has been designated as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India (SIRO).
Since 2017, the Institute has also hosted New Age Incubation Network (NAIN)/k-Tech to support Product Development and Incubation, and has been designated by MSME as a Host Institute (HI) to create a technological Business Incubator (BI) in 2020. SCEM has collaborations with several national and international academic organizations, educational institutions, and businesses.
With spacious class rooms, well-equipped classrooms, and a central library, the campus is artistically built in the courtyard system. The College`s in-house businesses, start-ups, LLPs, and Launchpad are its mainstays. The Sahyadri campus has all modern facilities, such as a clean and sanitary food court, a well-developed sports ground with a 400-meter athletic track, a gymnasium, and separate girls` and boys` hostels.
