The Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore launched a new 12-month programme entitled Professional Certificate in Hospital Management. It is an online-synchronous programme, which is a combination of massive open online courses (MOOCs) It is delivered by IIM-B faculty, and live online sessions by industry experts and professionals. It is so coincidental that the certificate program is started on National Doctors` Day. This program aims to benefit healthcare professionals, mid-level managers, healthcare consultants, entrepreneurs and business leaders. So that all the above professionals in the health sector, especially hospitals deliver quality services to the needy people.

According to Mr. K Sudhakar, Health Minister, Government of Karnataka; the new program will make the health delivery system holistic in both private and government hospitals. The minister admitted that the certificate program is like a dream, which came true. The certificate program will train the doctors in administration and management. The administrative skill will help deliver quality services with time management and a holistic approach. Officials at the administrative level such as District Health Officers, Medical College Deans, District Surgeons, State Programme Officers and Joint Directors are to be trained in management so people will get better quality healthcare.
