Ph.D. (Materials Science)

Minimum THREE / FOUR years and Maximum FIVE / SIX years for FULL-time and PART-time research respectively.

• PhD Material Science is a doctoral program that makes the students aware of the various developments in the field of material science. It gives them a deep understanding of the various research methodologies that are part of every PhD course.
• Students will get to understand the various advancements that are taking place in the development of new-age materials such as composites, polymers and nanomaterials.
• By undertaking this course, the students will be able to understand the various research processes that are involved in the finding and development of new material with advanced features.

• The program is useful for those who are aspiring for a career as a scientist or researcher and are desirous of making a mark with their efforts towards the development of better materials.
• At the end of the course, the students will have to write a thesis and defend it through viva voce in a public seminar in front of a panel of external examiners. On successfully passing the oral examination and fulfilling other requirements, like the publishing of research papers, the university awards the student with the PhD degree.
