Analysis

Pharmacy

After AP ECET (B.Pharm lateral entry), the expert committee from Edunews could spare time on the question paper, studied it carefully, and offered comments as a tip to the test takers. The committee has taken note of the question paper pattern, the paper marks allocated, and the scheme of evaluation.

Pharmaceutics: In this paper, the committee has observed 3 sections namely Pharmaceutics – I, Pharmaceutics – II and Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence. They carry 20, 20, and 10 marks respectively. The paper is conceptual in nature as such the questions are from simple to moderate. Further, over 50% of the questions are at easy level and the rest are at a moderate level.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry: In this paper, there are 3 sections namely Pharmaceutical Chemistry – I, Pharmaceutical Chemistry – II and Bio-Chemistry and Clinical Pathology and they comprise 20, 15, and 15 questions respectively. The questions under each section appear to be simple, therefore candidates might secure the stipulated marks as fixed by the University.

Pharmacognosy: In this paper also, the expert committee could find 3 sections namely Pharmacognosy, Drug Store & Business Management and Health Education and Community Pharmacy subjects. 60% of the questions in the paper are easy, 25% are at moderate level and 15% are at difficult level. This depicts that candidates might secure better marks in this paper as well.

Pharmacology: There are 3 sections in this paper namely Human Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology & Toxicology and Hospital Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy and they carry 20, 20 and 10 marks respectively. Under section A, most of the questions are simple and a very few are at the level of moderate. In section B, 60% of the questions are at the moderate level, 35% are at easy level and the rest at the difficulty level. In section C, 50% of the questions are at easy, 30% are at moderate and 20% at a difficult level.

From the above analysis, it is clear that the question paper of B.Pharm under lateral entry is at a moderate level.

Engineering

After AP ECET, the academic personnel step into the task of analysis of the question paper. The team has taken note of the pattern of the question paper, the level of the syllabus and the marks assigned.

Mathematics: This section has 50 questions that have been set on the basis of differential equations, integral factors, triangles, linear equations, set theory, vectors, algebra, circles, line integral, solutions, graphs, angles, spheres, matrices, determinants, trigonometry, etc. Candidates might not face any problem with Mathematics as they are into micro and macro related aspects of each and every topic.

Physics: In this section, the questions have been reflected from the topics such as force, velocity, energy, magnitude, gravitational force, speed, distance and time, kinetic friction, acceleration, inclination, mass, motion, frequency, temperature, amplitude, wavelength, volume, heat, entropy, electrons, radiations, spectrum and magnetism. Apparently, the questions under physics are tricky, therefore moderate.

Chemistry: In this case, the questions have been drawn from hydrogen, atoms, molecules, chemical bond, molecular weight, acids and bases, electrolysis, covalent bonds, chemical compositions, catalysts, galvanization, isotopes, gases, etc. Looking at the nature of the questions, the paper can be categorized from simple to moderate.

Engineering Subjects: There are several branches of engineering. Candidates have studied the syllabi prescribed under each branch at the level of diploma. Therefore the questions under each subject-specific appear to be simple.
