After conducting the entrance examination of law by Allahabad University, Edunews could quickly make an analysis of the question paper containing 3 parts viz, Language Comprehension, General Awareness and Current Affairs, and Legal Aptitude, Reasoning and Mental Ability; each part carries 100 marks.
Language Comprehension :
The experts having very good skill in English and Hindi have given optimal weightage on passage, synonyms and antonyms, idioms, words generally confused, figure of speeches, précis writing, etc. The experts have also given focus on rest of the topics in the Language component assuming that the ability of communication is very important the moment they are admitted to the course. Needless to say there are 100 questions under this component and each question carries one mark. Questions are not difficult; hence an average candidate will make essence of his presence in the examination.
General Awareness and Current Affairs :
The experts of Edunews opined that the questions under this component judiciously designed giving importance on history, environment on micro and macro, geography, contributions of R&D, contemporary issues at national and international level in various fields, international relationship and their participation in the development process of India and vice versa, etc. The questions under the section looks to be difficult, nevertheless candidates will be able to score as per their ability since there is no negative evaluation.
Legal Aptitude, Reasoning and Mental Ability :
The experts of Edunews have expressed their views that the questions under this section have been designed giving importance on all sub aspects. Further they felt that the questions under each sub topic of Part 3 have been assigned proper mix of the marks. GK in legal environment could examine the ability of the candidate in the domain area. Similarly, simple mathematical calculations such as calculation of interest, profit, selling price and the cost price have put the candidate on acid test to find out their worth in mental ability. Few questions on legal aptitude have been raised in the examination to make sure of the proficiency of the candidates in the Indian Constitution, Judicial System and Legal Principles.
On the whole, the question paper of the entrance examination conducted in 2019 creates an impression that it is mixed blending of the soft and hard for the candidates.
