Analysis

After AIIMS MBBS 2019, an effort has been made to see the reaction of experts on the question paper. Question paper pattern, the subjects, marks allotted, negative marking are explicitly stated in the notification of AIIMS 2019. Edunews contacted the experts in the medical science who have made observations very objectively.

Dr. Brajesh Maheshwari, Director of Allen Career Institute admitted that each section of AIIMS MBBS comprised 40 objective type questions and 20 Assertion Reason questions. 20 questions were asked from General Knowledge and Aptitude.

Physics – The Physics section was the toughest for almost all candidates. Quite a few students used the screen calculator in some of the questions. Many questions required the use of logic and some creative questions were asked which consumed a lot of time. Candidates who have prepared through conceptual study did not face many problems and found the Assertion Reason questions to be relatively easier.

Biology – The Biology section was the easiest for almost all candidates with questions coming primarily from the NCERT. Some questions also involved diagrams. An equal number of Botany and Zoology questions were asked and very few questions were confusing.

Chemistry – The Chemistry section was considered to be moderate. Many candidates however complained about the confusing language used in some of the questions in which expert also find it difficult. The questions were mainly from NCERT texts. The Assertion Reason questions were not difficult or time-consuming.

Aptitude & Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge - The questions in this section primarily revolved around current affairs, logical reasoning and riddles. The GK questions included name of Lok Sabha Speaker, meaning IMEI number and Mobile Signal Recognition. No questions from history were asked in the paper.

From the above, Edunews could make out that the question paper is at the moderate level, therefore candidates who are serious in studies especially in the conceptual framework might do good in the exam.
