Overview
  • National Testing Agency is an autonomous body created by the Act of Parliament in 2017, which conducts exam for various institutions as per the benchmark.
  • NTA conducts GPAT 2022 exam or the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test for admission to MPharma or equivalent courses. 
  • The scores of GPAT are accepted by 800 participating institutes and all the institutions/ universities approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
  • GPAT exam was conducted by AICTE up to 2017.
Pattern
  • GPAT exam pattern 2022 is designed by the National Testing Agency. 
  • There are a total of nineteen topics/subjects covered in the GPAT syllabus 2022.
  • Exam pattern of GPAT defines important parameters of the examination, such as mode, medium, marking scheme, etc. 
  • Type and number of questions : Candidates will be tested on the basis of 125 objective type questions. 
  • Marking scheme                       : For every correct answer, candidates are awarded 4 marks; for incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted and no marks will be deducted for questions unattempted. 
Application Details
  • Candidates of GPAT 2022 have to register online to fill the application form. 
  • The last date to register for GPAT 2022 is February. No new GPAT registrations will be accepted past this date. 
  •  Candidates applying for GPAT 2022 are advised to check the eligibility criteria before registering for it.
  • GPAT application form of an ineligible candidate will be rejected by the institute during admission. 
  • GPAT admit card will be issued to the candidates whose applications will be processed error-free.

What to keep ready before filling the GPAT application form 2022 ?

  • Qualification details.
  • Scanned passport-sized photograph (size between 10 kb - 200 kb in JPG/JPEG format).
  • Scanned signature (size between 4 kb - 30 kb in JPG/JPEG format).
  • A valid e-mail Id.
  • A valid mobile number.
  • A valid debit card/ credit card/ net banking account.

How to fill the GPAT application form 2022 ?

Step 1 : Register online and note down the system generated application number 

  • Go to the official website - ntagpat.nic.in.
  • Click on “New Registration”.
  • Enter details such as Email Id, mobile number, etc.
  • Create a password.
  • Choose security question.
  • Note down your password, security question and its answer.
  • Note down the system generated application number.

Step 2 : Complete the GPAT application form

  • Login using application number and password.
  • Proceed to fill the application form.
  • Check all the details before submitting the form.

Step 3 : Upload scanned images

  • Upload scanned copy of a passport-sized photograph.
  • Upload scanned copy of the signature.
  • Check the photograph and signature before final submission.

Step 4 : Pay GPAT application fee

  • Select the desired mode of payment (Net banking/ credit card/ debit card/ e-challan).
  • Print the confirmation page.

How to pay the GPAT application fee using the e-challan ?

  • If a candidate chooses to pay the application fee through SBI MOPS e-challan, he/she has to follow the below-mentioned steps :
  • Print the e-challan.
  • Locate the nearest State Bank of India branch.
  • Deposit the GPAT application fee and the e-challan in the branch.
  • Save the receipt with the transaction Id.
  • Go to the official website of ntagpat.nic.in.
  • Enter login credentials.
  • Check payment status.
  • Print confirmation page.

GPAT registration 2021 : Important points to remember

  • If a candidate fails to complete all the four steps as states above, his/ her GPAT application form will be considered incomplete.
  • The application fee is non-refundable.
  • Candidates need not send the GPAT application form or confirmation by post to the NTA.
  • NTA is not responsible for the verification of neither the information provided by the candidate nor the documents uploaded by him / her. 
Counselling
  • NTA conduct GPAT 2022 counselling in online mode. 
  • The counselling will be held for all the candidates who have qualified in the exam and secured more than or equal to the GPAT cutoff scores.  
  • Candidates who have been shortlisted in the merit list will be called for counselling process. 
  • The merit will comprise of candidate’s roll number, rank, NTA scores and the marks obtained in the entrance test.
  • Shortlisted candidates have to attend to the counselling along with the documents relating to their DOB, qualifying marks card , Degree certificate, Category certificate, identity proof, certificate of residence, Income certificate etc.

Eligibility
  • Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination of bachelor’s degree whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for the academic year 2021-22 can also apply for GPAT 2022.
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • There is no age restriction for appearing in GPAT 2022 exam.
Cut-Off

NTA will also release the GPAT Cut off 2022 and merit list along with the GPAT result 2022. The GPAT merit list consists of the list of GPAT toppers. The merit list has details such as a candidate’s name, roll number, all India rank, sectional scores, sectional percentile, overall percentile and sectional percentiles.

The merit list will contain the All India Rank (AIR) of GPAT qualifiers declared with the GPAT 2022 result. The percentile determines how many candidates have scored below a particular candidate.

A total of 4913 candidates qualified in GPAT 2020, last year, for the purpose of applying for scholarship. The Category wise GPAT 2020 Cut off qualifying marks and the number of Candidates are as follows :

Results
  • GPAT 2022 results will be announced by National Testing Agency, New Delhi for admissions in postgraduate programmes in Pharmacy. 
  • NTA will announce the GPAT 2022 result date along with other important dates such as commencement of registration and application forms, date of counselling and exam date. 
  • As per the scheduled dates the GPAT 2022 examination will be held on March and results will be declared.

How the candidates can check their GPAT 2022 results ?

  • Visit the official website of GPAT, ntagpat.nic.in.
  • Click on `View GPAT 2022 Result` button appearing under  new notification section.
  • Candidates are required to login using their application number and password/ date of birth.
  • Press the `Sign in` button and then on the `View result` button.
  • The candidate`s GPAT 2022 result will be displayed.
  • Download or save the online scorecard. The candidates are advised to take at least 3 to 4 copies printed.

Guidelines for tie-breaking :

  • After the GPAT 2022 result announcement, if in any case, two or more candidates score equal marks then a tie will be considered. 
  • The following in descending order will decide the final result.
  • Marks Obtained in Pharmaceutics.
  • Marks obtained in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
  • Candidates having less negative responses in the paper.
  • Candidates older in age.

Declaration of GPAT 2022 merit list :

  • National Testing Agency or NTA will announce the merit list right after the GPAT 2022 result, no exact date has been announced yet. 
  • The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks and percentage obtained in the GPAT examination 2022. 
  • The merit list mentions the overall rank at All India level, independent of the candidate’s category.
  • Candidates can refer to the previous year`s merit list to have better clarity :

Admit Card
  • The candidates are required to sign in to their NTA accounts using application number and password or date of birth, whichever opted, to access and download the GPAT 2022 admit card.
  • The candidates are required to take a clear printout of the downloaded admit card because a hard copy of the same is mandatory for verification purposes at the exam center.
  • Candidates not carrying a hard copy of their admit card will be subjected to be barred from the examination. 
  • The printed admit card should not have any detail misprinted and the address and name of the exam centre with important instructions should be clearly visible.
  • Except for the admit card, candidates should not carry any other paper or document with them, unless any further directions are issued by NTA. 
  • Other important details such as what to carry and what not to carry on the exam day of GPAT 2022 is yet to be notified by the conducting authority. 
  • Candidates are advised to read the notification to have better clarity regarding the GPAT 2022 admit card.

GPAT 2022 admit card download process :

  • Candidates are required to log in to their NTA GPAT accounts to download admit cards using the 12-digit application number along with the date of birth or the password. Below is the step-by-step guide on how to download the GPAT 2022 admit card.
  • Visit NTA`s official website and select `Pharmacy` from the main window screen.
  • Click onb Download GPAT 2022 admit card.
  • The admit card can be downloaded via entering application number and password or date of birth, whichever is opted.
  • After that, the candidates should click on the `Sign In` button.
  • Candidates can access admit cards being displayed on the screen.
  • Download the admit card and take at least 2 print out of the same.

Details printed on the GPAT 2022 admit card :

  • GPAT 2022 admit card will have several crucial details printed on it, details such as time of the exam, date of exam, exam center address and name. 
  • Below are the details which are expected to be present on the GPAT 2022 admit card.
  • Candidate’s roll number.
  • Personal details of the candidate such as photo, name and signature, gender, date of birth, category, father`s name.
  • Date and time of exam.
  • Name and address of the exam centre.
  • Reporting time and gate closing time.
  • Important instructions related to the GPAT 2022 exam.
  • GPAT 2022 exam centre.

Instructions printed on the admit card :

  • Like any other examinations, NTA also set some guidelines which are mandatory to follow on the day of GPAT examination. 
  • There are several codes of conduct set by the NTA and there’s a specified guideline on what things a candidate is allowed to carry with him/herself.
  • The list of such things are given below.
  • Copy of Admit card printed on A-4 size paper.
  • Passport size photograph exactly the same as uploaded in the application form.
  • Original photo ID issued by the government such as Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, PAN card.
  • For candidates under PwD quota, a PwD certificate issued by the governing authority.

Prohibited things :

  • Any paper having textual material on it such as log tables or any written/printed content.
  • Calculators.
  • Smartwatches.
  • Mobile Phones or any other electronic devices.
  • No slide rules.

Exam Day Guidelines for GPAT 2022:

What to carry on the exam day ?

  • Print copy of Admit Card downloaded from NTA’s website.
  • One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the GPAT Application Form).
  • Original, valid and non-expired photo ID.
  • PWD certificate (if applicable).

What not to carry on the exam day ?

  • Textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, and Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, and bits of papers, mobile phone, pager or any other electronic device.
  • Smoking, chewing gutka, spitting, etc. in the examination hall is prohibited.
