Overview
  • The GMAT exam is a computer-adaptive test that assesses the candidates’ analytical writing, quantitative, verbal and reading skills in standard written English.
  • This test is taken to get admission into a graduate management program, such as MBA and Masters in Finance related courses in top business schools across the world.
  • The exam is of 3 hours and 30 minutes including test instructions and breaks.
  • The Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative sections were shortened by 13 and 10 minutes respectively.
  • The Integrated Reasoning and Analytical Writing Assessment along with the Score Preview and the optional break time remained the same.
  • These changes do not have any impact on scoring in the shortened Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative sections as only the unscored items have been removed by the GMAC.

Pattern

The GMAT Online exam includes the Quantitative, Verbal and Integrated Reasoning sections (omitting the Analytical Writing Assessment Section). Each section will contain the same number of questions and time per section as the current in-person GMAT exam. The sections are as follows : 

  • 31 Quant / 62 minutes
  • 36 Verbal / 65 minutes
  • 12 IR / 30 minutes 

*Please note that the Section Order for the GMAT Online exam is fixed at this time as Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning.

The total exam time is approximately 3 hours - 2 hours 45 minutes for the exam and an additional 15 minutes to check into the online proctored system. You will be allowed one, optional 5-minute break before you begin the Integrated Reasoning section. Test takers have the option and flexibility to use a physical whiteboard or an online whiteboard for their scratch work and to take notes during the exam.

Application Details
  • GMAT is a management entrance exam conducted round the year where the candidates have the flexibility to take the exam on any day depending on the availability and time slot.
  • The number of GMAT applicants is increasing immensely every year, and thus, finding the slot becomes more difficult every time you wish to appear for the exam.
  • You need to make sure that at the time of booking your slot, your preferential test center is also available on the chosen date.

How to Register for GMAT Exam 2022 :

  • The candidates have the liberty of giving the exam anytime in the year as per their convenience.
  • The important thing to note is that the candidates can reschedule their next attempt only after 16 days of taking the first attempt.
  • A candidate is only allowed five attempts in one year. Here, are the steps to schedule your exam.
  • Steps to register for GMAT 2022 :
  • Step 1 : Visit the official GMAT website, mba.com.
  • Step 2 : Candidate needs to create his/her account.
  • Step 3 : Give your personal details like Name, address, etc.
  • Step 4 : Provide your academic and work details.
  • Step 5 : Verify and submit your details.
  • Step 6 : Schedule your exam. Choose your closest or preferred test center.
  • Step 7 : Select the preferred date and time slot.
  • Step 8 : Pay the GMAT Registration fee online through debit or credit card.
  • Step 9 : After paying the fee your GMAT Registration is complete.

GMAT Slot Booking :

  • As the number of applicants is increasing every year, it is recommended that you do not wait for the last moment to register for GMAT.
  • You should rather do it while you are preparing for the exam, and book the slot at least a month before the day you wish to attempt the exam.
  • Especially, during the peak season which begins around November every year, one should try to book the slot for the GMAT exam 3-4 months before the desired date of making the attempt.
  • Apart from the online, candidates can also register.
  • Through Phone : The candidates can also schedule through phone by calling the GMAT Customer Service of their region. Candidates have to pay US $10 surcharge for scheduling the exam by phone.  
  • Postal Mail         : The candidates can also pay through cheque to schedule the GMAT exam.

  • We are committed to maintaining the availability of online exams throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. To increase flexibility, appointment times are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Candidates can schedule an exam appointment up to 24 hours before an available testing window.
  • Appointment dates are available beginning April 20, 2021 through August 14, 2021.

GMAT 2022 Dates :

GMAT 2022 examination is organized multiple times in a year. There are no specify dates for the examination. Candidates must choose exam dates at the time of registration as per their choice. The registration for the exam will be made available through the year.

There are no fixed official GMAT dates, you can choose any date according to your convenience and availability. In case you need to retake the GMAT exam you can do so after 16 days. You can take or retake the GMAT exam after every 16 days. You can appear for the exam a maximum of five times a year. Ideally, candidates are recommended to register themselves two to three months before the exam date. If you register online or by phone, you can get yourself registered as late as 24 hours before the exam date. But it is safer to stick to early registration as you will then have a set schedule to prepare for the exam accordingly. Even the coaching institutes recommend you to register at the earliest available date so that you have a wide window of time to prepare.

  • The Graduate Management Admission Test also known as GMAT is mostly taken by the MBA aspirants who wish to study abroad.
  • This exam evaluates the candidates on the basis of their Integrated Reasoning skills, Quantitative skills, Verbal skills, and Analytical Writing Assessment.
  • The interesting structure and pattern of this exam makes it really tough and exciting at the same time.
  • Due to the course structure of this exam, some aspirants often get confused as to which exam will fulfill their MBA requirements better: GMAT or GRE.
  • It is essential for them to understand that the recognized business schools worldwide use the GMAT score to evaluate a candidate’s profile and conclude their admission.
  • India has been reported to have more than 3 lakh GMAT test-takers every year.
  • Taken across the world, this exam comes with a wide range of doubts amongst its aspirants.
  • One of the frequently asked questions by the aspirants on GMAT Exam is whether they are eligible for the exam or not.
  • To resolve this query, we have simplified the list of exam requirements as approved by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the official body that conducts the GMAT exam.

Eligibility Requirements for GMAT :

  1. Educational Qualification :
    • Candidates must have an Undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized board or university. There is no upper limit of educational qualification apart from graduation, if you are interested in appearing for the GMAT exam.
  1. Age Limit :
    • There is no upper age limit to appear for this exam.
    • For the minimum age limit, GMAC has defined that the candidates need to be at least 18 years.
    • However, it has been reported that aspirants that fall in the age group of 13 to 17 are also allowed to attempt the exam given that they have a written approval or consent provided by their legal guardians or parents.
  1. Language Requirements :
    • The GMAT exam is designed to be attempted in English, hence basic understanding and fluency in the language is a must for the aspirants.
    • In order to clear the exam, one must have the skills to comprehend the twisted and confusing questions asked in the exam.
    • The exam is tough and complicated; henceforth, its aspirants must have excellent command over the English language.
  1. Other Restrictions :
    • According to the GMAC, any individual irrespective of their gender, age, nationality, religion, academic background, etc. can appear for the exam without any discrimination.
    • This includes differently-abled candidates as well, who are provided with special exam accommodation upon request.
    • For such aspirants, the medical documents that define a candidate’s disability are put confidential, which has been thoroughly described in the privacy statement declared by the GMAC.
    • Though it is recommended to attempt the GMAT exam to get enrolled in a reputed business school, it is not mandatory to have appeared for this exam to study abroad.
    • There is a huge list of management colleges worldwide that do not require a GMAT score to evaluate your profile.
    • All they need is your previous academic record which justifies your capabilities or some work experience that defines your candidature.

Results
  • To enable comparability, the GMAT Online exam will have the same type and number of items and section times as the exam administered in test centers.
  • It will also use the same scoring algorithm and score scale for the Section Scores and Total Score as the test center-based version.
  • When candidates receive their official score report, they will see individual section scores as well as the total score on their exam.
  • Candidates will also be able to view the percentiles of their score in their score report. 
  • GMAT online exam scores are valid for 5 years and will not count towards candidates 12-month and lifetime GMAT limits.

Sending Scores :

We have introduced new flexibility with the GMAT Online exam that gives candidates control to decide when they are ready to send their score to programs. Included with the GMAT Online exam fee, candidates will have the opportunity to first view their official score and then choose to send their score to selected programs. In addition, all score sending is complimentary, and there is no cost to the candidate to send their GMAT Online exam score to any program.

Official scores will be sent to candidates via email (to the email on their registration record) within 7 business days of completing their exam.

Official scores will be made available to schools within 24 hours of the candidates request.  

Admit Card
  • Candidates can claim the GMAT Admit Card after the successful GMAT Registration.
  • Like every other examination, Admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to examination center and in absence of the same candidate will not be allowed to take the examination.
  • Forget about taking the examination, it will not be possible to know the details of GMAT Test center if Admit card is not downloaded.
  • GMAT is conducted throughout the year and having a specific date of Admit Card release is not possible.
  • Admit card will be given as per the registration and exam schedule date of the candidate.

Steps to Download GMAT 2021 Admit Card :

Step 1 : Candidate needs to register them first by completing the official GMAT profile by filling required information like name, date of birth and citizenship.

Step 2 : After successful registration, an auto-generated unique user ID will be created.

Step 3 : After 2, 3 days of registration candidates have to log onto the site again with the registered user ID and earlier set password followed by selecting the date of the exam and confirm the exam center.

Step 4 : In the next step candidate have to pay the GMAT Application Fee by either online or offline mode.

Step 5 : After the successful payment of the Fee, registration will be completed.

Step 6 : Completion of the registration process will be confirmed with GMAT Confirmation Letter which serves as Admit card for GMAT.

Key highlights of GMAT Confirmation Letter/Admit Card/Hall Ticket :

  • Candidate needs to visit the official website of GMAT to download the Admit Card.
  • Candidates who have subscribed to the option of getting alerts over email will be notified about the availability of GMAT Admit Card through an email a few days in advance before the examination.
  • Having the admit card is very essentials as it contains all the required credentials for the examination, including Date, time and venue of the examination.
  • Other than having the relevant information, it will also mention the important instructions which need to be followed before and during the examination.
  • Any candidate who fails to follow the rules will be disqualified from taking the examination.
  • Apart from carrying the admit card it is also important for the candidate to carry one government-approved Identity proof along with them to the examination center.
  • Valid Identity Proof for GMAT :
    • International Passport.
    • Government-issued drivers license.
    • Government-issued national/state/province identity card like Aadhaar Card.
    • Pan Card.
    • Military identity card.
  • Candidates are advised to carry more than one ID proof with them to avoid any issue also candidates having any medical issues needs to carry a certificate along with them.

Important points to remember :

  • Admit card/Confirmation letter : Candidate must ensure to carry one valid ID proof along with GMAT Admit Card.
  • No expired Admit card                : Identity proof and GMAT 2019 Admit Card carried should not be expired and should be latest.
  • Identity proof                               : Name of the candidate should be the same in both the admit card as well as Identity Proof. The order of the first and last name should also be the same.
  • Date of Birth                                 : The date of birth entered at the time of registration should be the same as available on the Identity card.
  • Photograph                                   :  Candidate should attach a recent color passport size photograph on the admit card which should be duly signed.
