Overview
  • Assam CEE is a common entrance exam conducted by Assam Science & Technological University for admission to engineering programmes, offered by various colleges in Assam.
  • It is one of the most important exam for students seeking admission to BTech courses in both government and private college of Assam.
  • Assam CEE is usually conducted in the month of May every year and the online application process for the same begins between February and March.
  • Assam CEE 2022 exam will be held in June (Tentative). The result of Assam CEE 2022 will be declared on July 2022.

Pattern

The candidates interested in BTech, must choose Course option 2, and for candidates who wants to do engineering courses with subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, must select Course option 3, at the time of registration.

  • The exam pattern for Assam CEE remains same every year with only a few changes in the overall admission process.
  • Each candidate should know the pattern of exam paper before appearing for the same.
  • Mentioned below is the paper pattern for Assam CEE to be held in 2022 :
    • The total number of question that comes in the exam is 100.
    • Maximum marks out of which candidates score is calculated is 100.
    • Question type is objective in nature.
    • Total duration of the exam is 2 hours.
    • There will be no negative marking scheme in Assam CEE 2022.

Please note that there will be two course option for candidates-Course option 1, Course option 2.

 

Application Details
  • Assam Science and Technology University will tentatively release their Assam CEE 2021 application forms in the third week of April for admission to the new academic session. The application forms will be filled in online mode for all the candidates.
  • All the candidates planning to seek admission to the BE/Btech programmes through Assam CEE will have to fill the Assam CEE 2022 application form.
  • However, it is always advisable for the candidates to first check the complete eligibility criteria of Assam CEE, only then proceed to fill the Assam CEE 2021 application form.
  • Candidates will be required to fill in their personal and academic details in the application forms and these details include the candidate’s name, contact number, email address and qualifying exam scores respectively.
  • Candidates will also have to upload the scanned copies of their recent passport size color photograph and signature in the specified format. This is to be uploaded while filling the Assam CEE 2022 application form.
  • After filling the application forms the candidates will have to submit Assam CEE application form 2022 along with the prescribed application fee as on or before the due date.

How to fill Assam CEE 2022 Application Form ?

  • The Assam CEE 2022 application form will be divided into two forms - A & B.
    • Form A is the Exam Application Form.
    • Form B is the Counselling Form.
  • The form A has to be submitted by the candidates during the application submission, filling in all their details and then submitting the prescribed application fee as on or before the due date.
  • Whereas form B has to be submitted at the time of counselling or admission.

Step 1 - Filling the Assam CEE 2022 Application Form with the requisite details.

Candidates will have to fill the following details in their Assam CEE 2022 application form :

Step 2 - Uploading the scanned copies of photograph and signature :

  • After filling in all the required details, the candidates will then need to upload their photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  • Recent color passport size photograph with dimensions 200 x 230 in JPEG/ JPG format in a file size less than 100 KB will be required to be uploaded.
  • Full signature with dimensions 160 x 40 in JPEG/JPG format in a size less than 100 KB will also be required.

Step 3 - Submitting the Assam CEE 2022 application form :

  • Candidates are always advised to check all the details provided carefully before submitting the form as changes will not be allowed later.
  • Candidates will receive a unique application number which will have to be safely preserved till the end of the admission procedure.
  • Candidates are also advised to take a print out of the application forms of Assam CEE 2022 and also for the e-challan generated after submission of the application form.

Step 4 - Payment of Assam CEE 2022 application fee :

  • Candidates will be required to pay the prescribed application fee for Assam CEE 2022 either ONLINE or OFFLINE.
  • In order to make the payment for the Assam CEE application fee in online mode, the candidates will have to make the use of net banking or debit or credit card.
  • In order to make the payment for the Assam CEE application fee in offline mode, the candidates will have to download the e-challan which will be generated after the submission of the Assam CEE 2022 application form.
  • Candidates will also have to use the e-challan on the second day of the application form submission by visiting their nearest SBI branch and making the payment of the fee in CASH.

Assam CEE 2022 Application Status :

  • Candidates will be able to check their Assam CEE 2022 application form status by simply logging in on the official website.
  • It is always advisable to check their Assam CEE application form status by log in, if the payment has been made in offline mode.
  • This is because the Assam CEE application form will be taken into consideration only if the payment will be complete.
Analysis
  • Assam CEE was conducted as per the calendar in 2022. Soon after the exam the Edunews authorities requested the expert team to have a glance over the question paper. Accordingly the team went through the question paper and submitted recommendation as under.
  • There are 3 components in the question papers viz Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. The question paper has been designed by the teachers very carefully keeping in view the syllabus.

Physics - Physical World and Measurement, Laws of Motion, Electrostatics, Atoms and Nuclei, Gravitation, Atoms and Nuclei, Thermodynamics etc. the questions have been designed carefully giving weightage on application then the top conceptual.

Chemistry - Under Chemistry questions have been raised on Structure of Atom, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Equilibrium, Environmental Chemistry, Solutions, Surface Chemistry, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen, Biomolecules etc. the questions seems to be difficult however it might be easy to score decent marks as stipulated.

Mathematics - Algebra, Calculus, Statistics and Probability, Relations and Sets, Linear Programming etc. questions on the topics have been given due weightage.

Assam CEE analysis is based on the difficulty level of the paper. The Assam CEE comprises questions from different sections to check the ability of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. The difficulty level of the Assam CEE is lie between moderate to tough.

Counselling
  • After successful conduct of the Assam CEE and the declaration of results, the schedule for the process of counselling will be released by the university.
  • Dully filled application forms are to submitted by the eligible candidates for counselling. They are strictly advised to go through the guidelines of the counselling process before submitting the forms.
  • The candidates who have qualified CEE or JEE Main are eligible for the counselling process for the 4 year Btechprogramme.
  • CEE board will conduct an admission cum interview before allotting seats. Seat allotment of Assam CEE 2021 will be based on merit rank of candidate along with their choices (filled in Application Form B) and availability of seats.The counselling procedure has to be attended in person. Candidates shall pay counselling fee during the interview round.
  • The candidates shall report the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam building for the process of counseling.
  • The candidates are required to carry their counselling form, admit cards and qualification certificates at the time of counselling. Failing which their candidature is subjected to cancellation.

Eligibility

Assam CEE 2022 - Eligibility Condition :

Candidates appearing for Assam CEE 2022 needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned by the exam conducting authority to appear for the exam. The detailed criteria to apply for the exam is given below :

  • Appearing candidates must have a domicile of Assam and a citizen of India. 
  • Those who belongs to reserved category have the provision of relaxation up to 3 years in upper age limit.
  • Appearing candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with an aggregate of 50% (45% in case a candidate belongs to reserved category) in subjects including Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology/Mathematics. 
  • For admission into BE/BTech Courses the candidate must pass the Qualifying Examination individually in the same sitting without any grace marks in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English with a minimum of 50% (45% in case of SC and 40% in case of ST) marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The same sitting means a candidate must appear for all the four subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English together.
  • The Candidate must appear in the Entrance Examination for admission (CEE - 2022).
  • The Candidate must not above 21 years or below 17 years of age. Upper age limit is relaxed to 22 years in case of BSc. passed Candidates. Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for Scheduled Cast and Scheduled Tribe candidates.

  • Assam CEE 2022 cutoff will be determined on the basis of factors like the number of seats available, the number of applicants, difficulty levels of the entrance test and previous year cutoff trends.

Results

The conducting authority Assam Science and Technology University will release Assam CEE results on May 10. The exam results are available online on the official website of ASTU. A merit list of the qualified candidates is also released after the successful declaration of Assam CEE results. The Assam CEE merit list is prepared on the basis of the list of candidates that are shortlisted for further admission process. The rank of a candidate will depend on the better score. Preference will be given to aspirants with higher ranks, during the counselling process.

Steps to check Assam CEE results : 

  • Visit the official website of ASTU.
  • Navigate to the "Assam CEE Results" link. 
  • Submit roll number and date of birth.
  • Your Assam CEE score card will be displayed on the screen. 

Candidates are advised to check all the elements mentioned in their score card. Once carefully checked, candidates can download their result card and preserve for future reference. In case of discrepancy, the same needs to be informed to the authorities at ASTU within 24 hours of the release of exam results. 

In case of Tie-breaker : In such cases, there will be two or more than two candidates who must have secured same score in CEE. Here, PCM aggregate of Class XII shall be considered for shortlisting them. If there still persists a tie, then, overall aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English will be helpful for selection of candidates. With further subsequent tie, the Chairman of Selection Committee shall select the candidates on different terms.

 

Admit Card
  • Assam CEE Admit Cards will be released by authorities at ASTU in April. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website till April, the day of exam.
  • Only those candidates who meet the minimum eligibility norms as issued by the authorities will be issued the Assam CEE admit card. 
  • Issue of admit card enables the candidate to appear in the Examination only. It does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements to be eligible for admission to the course for which the candidate has appeared in the examination.
  • Eligibility for the selection into a course shall be governed by the rules framed for respective courses.
  • Candidates can download the admit card from the official website which the mentioned dates as released by the university.
  • The candidates need their Application Form number generated during the online submission of the Application form.

Steps to download Assam CEE admit cards :

  • Visit the official website of ASTU.
  • Navigate to the "Download admit card" link. 
  • Submit your application form number. 
  • Your Assam CEE admit card will be displayed on the screen. 
  • Check all the credentials and details mentioned.
  • Download the admit card and preserve for future reference.
  • In case of any discrepancy, immediately inform the admissions authority at ASTU.
  • Candidates are advised to carefully preserve their Assam CEE admit card. They will be required to carry the document along with them to the test centre, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for Assam CEE exam.

Exam Day - Conduct and Guidelines :

Step 1 :

  • Schedule the exam through Assam CEE Admission (If you have applied and have your Form No and Password).

Step 2 :

  • Please bring a print out of the admit card on the day of Test.
  • Please also bring one government issued ID proof in original - Driving License / Aadhar Card / Voters ID / Pan Card / Passport.
  • Candidate is allowed to leave the Test Center ONLY after Final Submission of "END TEST"remark that appears on the screen.
  • Use of Electronic/Manual Calculator is prohibited during the exam.
