• AILET application form 2022 filling process is underway.
• NLU Delhi released the AILET application form on the official website of the law school on January 17.
• Candidates who want to apply for AILET 2022 can register online only latest by April 7.

• AILET application process 2022 will be complete only after candidates fill and submit the form along with the application fee.

• AILET 2022 application fee is Rs 3,050 for General category, Kashmiri Migrant and Foreign Nationals, whereas, for Scheduled Caste/ Tribes and PWD category, the application fee is Rs 1,050.

• To register for AILET 2022, candidates have to fill in details such as name, personal mobile number, email address, and date of birth as per their official documents. 
• NLU Delhi offers admission in law programmes to students based on their performance in AILET 2022.

How to fill AILET 2022 Application Form?

• Step 1:Online Registration
  • Candidates need to visit the official website of NLU Delhi -  http://nludelhi.admissionhelp.com OR http://www.nludelhi.ac.in
  • Click on `Register to Apply Now` where you need to create a signup/ login account by providing the below-mentioned information:
    • Name 
    • E-mail Address
    • Create a Password
    • Date of Birth 
    • Mobile Number 
    • Contact Address
  • Click on confirm registration, and log in again to fill the application form by clicking on `Application Locker`.
• Step 2: Select the law course
  • The exam is conducted for undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses in law; therefore, candidates need to select the course they are applying for. 
  • For this candidates need to select the application form for – BA LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD.
  • Once, the candidates have selected the course in which they want to secure admission they need to click on the “Apply Now” button for next step.
• Step 3: Fill AILET application form
  • On successfully creating the AILET login account, candidates can fill the form to complete the application process of NLU Delhi admissions.
  • For this the details to be filled in by the candidates are as under:

  • In the final step towards completing the application process, candidates have to pay the application fee.
• Step 6: Application Form Submission
  • Once the application fee has been paid and the status for it is reflected in the applicant account, candidates have to cross-check the details entered on the form and submit it online only.
  • Also, take printouts of the submitted application form for future references. 

Fee Structure

• Online mode:
  • Candidates can pay the application fee using Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking optionthrough online payment gateway.
  • To pay the application fee, candidates have to select the mode of payment as `Online Payment Gateway` and fill the details of card or net banking and proceed to pay. 
• Offline mode:
  • If candidates want to pay the application fee in offline mode then they have to select `Cash Deposit at post office` as the mode of payment.
  • Then they have to select their city, the nearest branch and a challan will be generated.
  • Download it and pay the fee in cash at the selected branch within 48 hours of generating the challan.
  • Once the fee has been paid, the updated status will reflect on the applicant account within 72 hours. 
• AILET Application Fee:

• The National Testing Agency conducted AILET 2020 on behalf of NLU Delhi on September 26.
• The exam was held in a Computer-Based Test mode for the first time ever owning to COVID precautions.
• According to the test-takers, AILET 2020 difficulty was moderate however, the question paper was lengthy.
• They found it difficult to attempt all the questions in 90 minutes. 

English

• This section comprises 35 marks. This year’s paper had 8 inferential-based questions based on a Reading Comprehension, 3 vocabulary questions, 12 grammar questions including 10 questions of improving the sentence and 2 questions relating to identifying the part of speech, 6 questions of a single cloze test set, and 6 questions related to figures of speech.
• More questions have been raised regarding figures of speech.
• However, they had already been introduced last year and did not surprise anyone who had already gone through last year’s paper.
• Last year’s paper did not contain a passage; however, no one could have ruled that out as a possible set of questions, so no surprises there either.
• This section was a bit lengthy and could have taken some extra time to solve.
• Keeping all this in mind, candidates can easily score around marks in this section.

General Knowledge

• This section comprises 35 marks. This paper only had 2 questions based on static GK—Geography in particular; the rest of the questions were from the current side with most questions from international affairs, person-based appointments, and science and technology. There were also some statement-based questions.
• This section’s difficulty level was moderate and 20 would be considered a decent score in this.

Legal Aptitude

• This section comprises 35 marks. This year’s paper had 13 questions of Legal Reasoning while the rest were from Legal GK.
• Most of the reasoning-based questions were quite lengthy with multiple principles.
• Most of the principles were from conventional topics and are very common in this section.
• The Legal GK portion of this section contained questions from Economics, Polity, and legal current affairs mostly from the last quarter i.e. January to March.
• The reasoning portion of this section was quite lengthy and would have taken quite a bit of time to solve properly.
• The actual surprise was the Legal GK questions in this paper which were abundant in number and some required a bit of detailed knowledge.
• This plays the deciding role in the final cut-off as these contained questions which required immense study and dedication on the student’s part during the preparation.
• 18 would be considered a good score in this section.

Logical Reasoning

• This section also comprises 35 marks. In this year’s paper, there was a 7-question set and 10 traditional questions of directions, blood relations, clocks, seating arrangement, and puzzles in analytical reasoning, 2 questions of syllogism, and 16 questions on critical reasoning including 10 paragraph-based questions and 3 questions each on the course of action and cause and effect.
• Question paper on logical reasoning speaks about critical reasoning; therefore many questions under this were tricky. Overall the candidates might not have performed better in the section, however, candidates would score 18 easily without hindrance.

Mathematics

• This section comprises 10 marks. This year, this section had 3 questions of time-distance-speed and 2 questions of mensuration with some other questions of individual topics.
• This section was difficult; therefore the candidates might not have attempted all the questions keeping in view the negative evaluation.
• Only 4 or 5 questions could have been possibly attempted properly while keeping the rest of the paper in mind.

Final Verdict

• The paper was lengthy and difficult; therefore it would affect the entire cut-off.
• No student is expected to have performed well in each section and it would have been a rather formidable challenge to attempt every possible question.
• Legal GK and critical reasoning play the most crucial role in deciding a student’s fate with the former being a bit more important than the latter.

• The National Law University (NLU) Delhi will begin AILET counselling 2021 for BA LLB and LLM course admissions after the declaration of the result.
• The counselling for NLU Delhi admissions is done on the basis of All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) scores and merit lists for each category.
• NLU Delhi will issue admission letters to candidates who qualify for the law entrance exam as per AILET cut off marks.
• The university will conduct AILET 2021 counselling in online mode i.e. candidates will have to report online on the official website of AILET 2021 for counselling as per the scheduled time and date in the admission call letters.

AILET Spot Counselling Round

• National Law University, Delhi conducts a spot counselling round if seats remain vacant in any course offered at NLU Delhi after the last date to deposit fee basis the merit list for AILET exam is over.
• Candidates are informed that AILET spot counselling round is conducted only to fill vacant seats.
• Once the counselling rounds (basis merit lists) of AILET exam are over, NLU Delhi conducts Spot Counselling round in which only those candidates can participate whose names are present in AILET merit list 2020 waiting list category.
• After AILET Spot Counselling round is over no further admission/counselling rounds are conducted by NLU Delhi.

• National Law University, Delhi will release the official notification for AILET 2022 in the first week of January 2022.
• Candidates seeking admission to NLU Delhi have to appear for the examination to be held in the first week of May 2022 in pen-paper based test mode.

• After the declaration of the AILET 2022 results, the university releases the Cut off on the basis of different category.

• The university will release separate merit lists for AILET for each category and also, it will be available marks-wise and roll number wise.

AILET result and merit list will contain the following information related to a candidate who has passed the written entrance exam:

AILET Tie-Break

In a scenario where two or more candidates secure the same marks in AILET 2019for BA LLB course admissions then tie-break in such a scenario is done as per the below mentioned criteria:

• Candidate who has secured higher marks percentage in Intermediate Examination (10+2) /Higher Secondary School or its equivalent as recognised by the University is ranked higher
• If the tie still remains, then the candidate who has higher score in Class X is ranked higher
• If the tie still remains, then the candidate who is older is ranked higher

AILET LLM & PhD Result

• AILET LLM results will also be declared on the official website of the law school.
• LLM course results are declared by NLU Delhi both category wise and roll number wise.

What after AILET Result?

Once results for AILET exam are declared, candidates are offered admission in NLU Delhi on the basis of following:

• AILET cutoff: AILET cutoff will consist of minimum marks that candidates need to secure in the written test in order to be eligible for admission in law programmes offered at NLU Delhi.

AILET Counselling: Candidates meeting the cutoff will have to participate in AILET counselling process. In AILET counselling, candidates will be allotted seats in their respective courses on the basis of merit.

• National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) will release the admit card for AILET in April along with the city and centre selection option.
• Candidates can download the admit card once they update their exam centre preferences on the official website of the exam.
• The admit card will be generated in online mode on the official website of NLU Delhi only.
• The law university will not send the admit cards by post to any candidate.
• Candidates are advised to download the admit cards at least 3-4 days before the exam date to avoid last-minute inconvenience.

• You will be redirected to the login window where you need to enter application form ID, date of birth as password and Captcha code
• Click on Login button to view the admit card
• The admit card will be displayed on the screen, cross-check for any errors and if any discrepancy is found, report it to the exam authority helpdesk (mentioned below).
• Proceed to download the admit card in colour print (if black and white, then it should mention test centre details and candidates photograph clearly)
• Get extra printouts of the admit card to use in case you misplace it 

Problems in downloading AILET Admit Card

• There might be situations where candidates may face some problems in downloading the admit card, for this, they should check:
  • Internet speed: Check if the internet connection is working fine. If not then wait for some time and download admit card again when there is good internet speed.
  • Technical glitch: All the applicants start downloading their admit card as soon as it is available and hence, the website may face a technical glitch due to heavy traffic or some other reason. In such a case, candidates are advised to wait for some time and try again to download the admit card later.
  • Incorrect credentials: Candidates should ensure that they are entering correct login details and if they forgot any details then they can check the confirmation email they had received at the time of registration. Or they can click on `forgot password` to receive it on their email address.

What to do in case of discrepancy on the admit card?

• Candidates can also visit the NLU Delhi admission office from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on any working day to get the admit card rectified.

Documents to carry along with AILET Admit Card 

• Candidates are advised to carry anyone original photo ID proofto the allotted AILET exam centre. Documents that candidates can present as an ID proof includes PAN Card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card/ Ration Card.
• Candidates should also carry two stamp size photographsto the exam centre (preferably the same as used at the time of filling the AILET application form.
• Candidates belonging to Persons with Disability (PwD) category must carry with themselves the copy of the disability certificateissued by the competent authority. The certificate will be helpful on the day of the exam for availing the facility of scribe/extra time.
• Since AILET is an offline exam, candidates should not forget to carry at least one penciland two ballpoint pens of black and blue colours to the exam centre.

Exam Day Conduct and Guidelines:

• Candidates should report their allotted test centre at least an hour before the exam timings i.e. by 9 am, so as for the necessary verification to be done by the exam centre officials.
• Candidates should carry at least one valid photo Id proof along with their admit card for AILET 2020 such as PAN Card/ Aadhaar Card/ Driving License/ Ration Card/ Passport etc. (in original as well as one copy). 
• They should also carry their own pens (at least two) and one HB pencil for filling OMR answer sheet. The pens should be ballpoint and colour should be black or blue. 
• Also, candidates should avoid taking any study material or items like calculator, mobile phone, digital watch, iPad, and jewellery to the exam center.
