  • AMU law entrance exam test pattern for BA LLB course is such that the question paper will contain 75 objective-type questions and 10 subjective-type short questions. 
  • Aspirants need to complete the exam in two hours duration.

Application Details
  • The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is expected to release the AMU Entrance Exam application form 2021 soon.
  • The online application form for AMU entrance exam 2021 will be available on the official website.
  • Candidates can fill the application form including fee payment before the last date of application which is different for all the courses.
  • The application window is common for all courses offered through AMU entrance exam, however, candidates have to select the course while filling up the application form only. 

 How to apply for AMU Entrance Test 2021?

Step 1: Register on AMU Website

  • Before starting with the application form, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of Aligarh Muslim University - https://www.amucontrollerexams.com/
  • Candidates need to click on the Application Form link and enter details such as name, email ID, and mobile number.
  • Once all details are filled and submitted, a user ID and password will be sent to candidates on their registered email address.
  • Candidates need to login to their accounts using their user ID and password and proceed towards the next step of the AMU application process.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

    • On successful login, the application form for AMU entrance exam will open on the screen and candidates need to fill the details as under:
      • Preference for course, branch, etc
      • Personal details such as name, mobile number, date of birth, gender, parents’ names, etc
      • Academic details such as the name of the qualifying exam passed marks scored, subjects studied, etc. Candidates also need to enter their Class 10th and 12th academic details.
      • Preference for exam centre
      • Photograph and signature (JPEG format)
    • Once all details are filled, candidates can proceed towards the next step of paying the application fee.

Step 3: Application Fee Payment

    • Candidates can pay the application fee in online mode through net banking/ debit card/ credit card.

Step 4: Application Form Submission

    • After filling all the details and fee payment, candidates can submit the application form in online mode only.
    • Candidates should download the application form after submitting it and get printouts for future references.

Analysis

BA LLB

Entrance examination for the year 2020 was conducted by the Aligarh Muslim University in the centers already notified. After the examination, Edunews requested its expert team to review the question paper and offer the observations which is imperative from the view point of the takers. As per the notification entrance examination of BA LLB comprised of 3 parts namely General English, GK / Current Affairs, Reasoning and Aptitude. The questions are of multiple choice under Part A and descriptive under Part B. MCQ and descriptive type questions carry weightage of 75% and 25% respectively. 

 General English

The questions under this component relates to basic grammar, synonyms, antonyms, idioms, proverbs, a passage with few questions, etc. The multiple choice question under general English is direct as such the takers might not have faced any problem while answering the questions. The team opined that the candidates having the basic knowledge of communicative English and grammar might score better without any hassle.

General Knowledge/ Current Affairs

Under this component, questions have been drawn from the latest economic conditions in India, political turmoil, developments in legal and judiciary, cultural aspects, international relations, persons who won laurels, awards, prizes in different fields both in India and global, modern history, earth science, science and technology, etc. The questions in the paper relates to more of current affairs than that of past events. Therefore the team felt that the candidates who could update themselves with the current trends might score good marks. 

Reasoning & Aptitude

Under this component, the questions have reflected on critical reasoning, blood relations, directions, analogy, series, etc. The questions might create chaos in the minds of the takers unless they are studious in the mental aptitude as well as logical reasoning. The candidates who have got exposure on the topics can secure a decent mark as stipulated. 

Descriptive Questions

Experts have discovered as many as 10 questions carrying 25 marks in toto. The questions on précis writing, business correspondence, significance of proverb, demonetization, GST, Indian banking system, constitution of India with its amendments, prominent personalities in different fields, etc. have been raised. All the questions under this part warrant the candidates to explain the same with proper justification.

Overall the experts have categorically expressed that the question paper of the Aligarh Muslim University Entrance Exam is bit complex compared to the previous years.

LLM

LLM entrance exam for 2020 was conducted by AMU. The experts of Edunews have observed the question paper on the basis of the syllabus notified by AMU. It is clear that there are 2 parts in the question paper namely multiple choice question and descriptive; each carry 50% weightage. Under MCQ question paper, experts could find questions on comprehension/communicative English, mathematical ability, current affairs and logical reasoning. The questions under this relates to the current trends in GK, communicative English and simple puzzles under reasoning. All the questions looks to be simple but candidates might have faced problems on logical reasoning. The experts feel that the question paper might help the candidates to score good marks in the examination.

Descriptive: The questions raised relating to current affairs, Indian contract, constitution, torts, property Act, Companies Act, Hindu undivided family, IPR, etc. All the questions under this part expect the candidates to write in terms of paragraph with their justification. On the whole, the question paper for LLM entrance appears to be hazy. Therefore hardworking candidates might score decent marks.

BSc (Home Science) / BSc (Hons)

The team of Edunews proficient in entrance examination in particular has carefully examined the pressure built on the candidates both overtly and covertly. The team after examining the paper came out with the analysis as under:

  • For most of the students, this is one such section which gives like roses. 
  • Chemistry (25 Qs)
    • Qs on Chemistry are at the level of 11th and 12th
    • Most of the Qs are Chemical reaction based.
    • The level of Qs is moderate.
  • Physics (25 Qs)
    • Qs on Physics are at the level of 11th and 12th
    • Most of the Qs are based on derivations with the help of different variables.
    • The level of Qs is simple.
  • Mathematics (25 Qs)
    • Qs on Mathematics are at the level of 11th and 12th
    • The Qs are in the form of computation with the help of formula.
    • The level of Q paper is moderate.
  • Biology (25 Qs)
    • Qs on Biology are at the level of 11th and 12th
    • Most of the Qs are on the basis of structure either in Botany or Zoology.
    • The level of Qs is ranging from simple to moderate.
  • Home Science (25 Qs)
  • Qs on Home Science are on the basis of general science at the level of secondary education.
  • Qs are not tricky therefore they are at the level of simple.

 MSc. in various subjects

  • Syllabus for M. Sc is at the level of B. Sc in the concerned subjects
  • Objective type questions are based on the concerned subject
  • 50% of the questions are easy. 35% of the questions are moderate and 15% is difficult.
  • Candidates who have prepared themselves AMU M. Sc science courses may not find difficult to clear the examination, if they are on constant study.

MTTM

Entrance examination for year 2020 was conducted by the Aligarh Muslim University in the centers already notified. After the examination, Edunews requested its expert team to review the question paper and offer the observations which is imperative from the view point of the takers.

Environmental Awareness – In this case questions are normally on the environment, which occupy a significant part in the present contact. Questions are ranging from simple to moderate.

Data Interpretation & Numerical Ability – In  this case questions are on Data Interpretation & Numerical Ability shows the complicated questions as well. Therefore the level of questions are moderate.

Comprehension & Verbal Ability – The questions are focused on general English and communicating. The level of questions are simple.

Reasoning & Intelligence - In this part also questions gets reflected on logical reasoning. The level of questions are moderate.

 

Mass Communication and Media Studies

After AMU Entrance Exam, the academic staff of Edunews visited the question paper, studied the same and came out with the following observation. The team has taken note of the pattern of the question paper in which they could find 40 questions (MCQ) and 4 questions (descriptive). 

General Awareness: Questions have been asked on the area such as sports and games, abbreviations and its expansions, who is who, awards and laurels, significant stride in science and technology, GDP, contribution of various sectors, economic recession, prosperity, changes in the political scenario, Indian constitution and its amendment from time to time, Centre-State relationship, various committees constituted from time to time and their recommendations, taxation system, especially GST and income tax, triple Talaq, heritage issues, tourism spots, employment status, etc. Generally the questions on GK will be difficult unless the candidates are able to abreast themselves with the latest trends.

Communicative Skills: Questions have been raised on the topics such as active and passive voice, jumbled words; fill in the blanks, antonyms and synonyms, phrases, articles, prepositions, sentence corrections, a small passage followed by posers, etc. The level of questions is simple as they are based on secondary level of education.

 

MBA

Aligarh Muslim University, school of management has conducted entrance examination for the admission to MBA in 2019. The Edunews pressed its experts into the process of the examination paper analysis. The experts having observed 5 components in the question paper has come out with the following findings:

English Section: The questions under general English have figured on grammar, synonyms, antonyms, jumbled words, phrases, parts of speech, idioms, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, preposition, passage, etc. The component has 20 questions and each question carries 1 mark. The questions on the said component are simple for the candidates who have studied in the secondary level of examination. Therefore, it is easy for them to score decent marks.

GK and Current Affairs: The experts have observed 20 Questions under the component and each question carries 1 mark. The questions raised relates to the recent development in the field of environment, initiatives of the govt. of India in the field of industry, recent political development, achievements in sports and games, splendid performance in R&D and contribution of science and technology. Besides, international relationship has also been focused for setting the question paper. The candidates who are able to be in touch with current affairs can score better than others.

Legal Aptitude: The experts have also observed legal aptitude apart of the question paper. Questions have figured on Indian contract, constitutional law, IPR, Law of torts and vicarious liability. The candidates who have an idea of the fundamentals of law can consider it to be a cake whereas for others it is a hard stuff.

Reasoning: The experts could find 20 Questions on reasoning as well. The questions have risen on blood relation, direction, critical reasoning, series and analogy. The questions are tricky in nature as such it is not a soft food for everybody. However, the candidates who have studies reasoning under CBSE pattern can score decent marks.

Mathematics: The edunews experts have also observed that the question papers has question for 20 marks. All the questions raised could test the ability of the candidate on quantitative methods, simple mathematics and statistical tools to test the findings of a situation/project/case etc. the candidates who are well versed in 10+2+3 can fare better than others. On the whole, it is mixed blending of the soft and also hard. Hence, it is not tough for the candidates to secure decent marks as stipulated in the exam.

 

B.Sc (Hons) Agri

  • Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Chemistry -

Candidates  are expected to select any one group of the subjects. The syllabus of the subject are at the level of degree in the concerned subject recognized University. An attempt is made to test the level of knowledge and skill possessed by the candidate on the concern subject. The level of question paper is at moderate level.

MSc. (Agriculture) Entomology

General Awareness in Agricultural Sciences -

Questions have been asked on current affairs and contemporary issues in agriculture science at micro and macro level. The level of questions is moderate to difficult, unless the candidates are thorough on the syllabus prescribed by Aligarh Muslim University.

  • General Agriculture, Zoology, Botany and Chemistry

The candidates  are expected to select any one group of the subjects. The syllabus of the subject are at the level of degree in the concerned subject recognized University. An attempt is made to test the level of knowledge and skill possessed by the candidate on the concern subject. The level of question paper is at moderate level.

MSc. (Agriculture) Plant Pathology

Counselling
  • The counselling of AMU entrance exam 2020 will be held within a month after declaration results.
  • The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will conduct the counselling of all courses separately in July or August.
  • Candidates will be called for counselling of AMUEE 2020 basis their performance in the written exam.
  • The university will also prepare separate merit lists for all courses on the basis of AMU entrance exam 2020 results.
  • Candidates have to appear for the AMUEE 2020 counselling process as per the schedule shared by the university.
  • Candidates can download their call letters from the official website of the varsity.
  • For some courses, candidates do not need to appear for any counseling session.
  • At the AMU counseling session, candidates will be called one by one strictly as per the ranks allotted to them for verification of documents. 
  • If verification of documents is successful, candidates will be offered a seat in the relevant course following which they need to pay AMU admission fees by the stipulated date. Admission of candidates failing to pay admission fee in time might cancel.

Some of the documents that candidates need to carry at the time of AMU entrance exam 2020 counseling are:

  • Class 12th and 10th mark sheets

  • Recent passport size photograph (six) as uploaded in the application form. The photograph should be colour print with white background (dimensions - (2.5 x 3.0 cms)
  • Documents pertaining to the reserved category as authorised by a competent authority/Naib Tehsildar / Deputy Collector or Higher Divisional Officer
  • For PWD category - Attested copy of Certificate from a Medical Practitioner not below the rank of Civil Surgeon verifying the extent (percentage) of disability.
  • Income certificate for EWS category 
  • Certificates for children of AMU employees - Employment Certificate from the Head of the Office where the candidate’s parent is working or has worked (retired/ died in harness) in AMU, Aligarh and it should be countersigned by the Service Book & Pension Section.
  • Documents if children of AMU Alumni - Certificate / Diploma / Degree/ Marksheet (final year) of a regular course of study of duration not less than one year obtained by the parent from AMU. Also, an undertaking from the candidate’s parent concerned as a proof of the relationship of the candidate with Certificate / Diploma / Degree / Marksheet (final year) holder. 
  • Documents for Children of Central Govt. employee who has been recently Posted/ Transferred to Aligarh - Attested copy of Transfer order of competent authority/certificate from the Head of the Department where the parent is serving in Aligarh indicating the date of posting and joining at Aligarh. 
  • Attested copy of Certificate of domicile from the District Authority of State /UT that candidates hail from.
  • For NCC candidates - Certificates from schools/ university as per the level

Cut-Off
  • AMU 2021 Cut Off will be the minimum marks candidates have to score in the exam required for getting admission into UG & PG courses in the university. 
  • Candidates who secure less than the Cutoff will not be offered to participate in the Counselling.
  • The University will release the cut-off list after the result declaration through online mode.
  • The Cut-Off marks will depend on the various factors such as total number of candidates appeared in the entrance exam, total number of candidates qualified the exam, the difficulty level of exam, the number of seats, etc.
  • Candidates are advised to visit the official website of AMU for having an idea of Cutoff course wise in 2021.

Results
  • Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will declare the results of AMU entrance exam 2020 within a month after conducting the examination.
  • The university will declare AMU entrance exam 2020 results separately for each course.
  • The results will be available in the form of merit list (and waiting list) for each course separately.
  • Candidates can check their AMU entrance exam 2019 result on the official website of the university by clicking on the Result link and thereby selecting the course for which they want to see the result.
  • AMU entrance exam result will contain all relevant details such as candidate’s name, roll number, marks scored (total and in each section), qualifying status, etc.
  • After the declaration of AMU result, course-wise merit lists will be released containing rank of candidates who will qualify the test.

  • Visit the official website http://results.amucontrollerexams.com/results/
  • Select the course that you appeared in and the window will expand for the merit lists of the course
  • The AMU entrance exam 2020 result in the pdf format will open up in a new window
  • The merit list will mention roll numbers and ranks marks who have qualified the AMU entrance exam for the selected course as well as counselling dates, schedule and venue
  • Candidates can save the pdf file for future references
Admit Card
  • Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will release the admit card for AMU entrance exam at least seven days before the exam date.
  • The university will release AMU entrance exam 2021 admit cards in online mode only.
  • The admit cards will be available separately for each course, and the candidates can download their admit card by login on the official website of AMU Entrance Exam.
  • Once downloaded, candidates need to take a printout of AMU entrance exam 2020 admit card, paste a passport size photograph on it and carry it to the allotted exam centre. 
  • AMU exam centre details will be mentioned on the admit cards of candidates. 
  • Along with the admit card, candidates also need to carry an additional photograph that will be pasted on the attendance sheet at the time of exam.
  • Candidates not carrying their AMU entrance exam admit cards might not be allowed to write the test.

  • Click on the admission tab for `General Admissions` and a new tab will open up 
  • In this tab, click on the `Admit Card` link under the course applied for AMU entrance exam
  • The admit card will appear on the screen, candidates are required to cross-check details mentioned on it (check below what to do in case of the discrepancy found on the admit cards)
  • After this, download the admit card and get printouts of it to carry on the exam day
